Frequently asked questions
Sign in with the same e-mail and password you use for the Balvantis web version at app.balvantis.com.
If you don’t remember your password, open app.balvantis.com and choose “Forgot your password?”. Use the new password in the app as well.
If you have no account or your access has been switched off, contact your company’s administrator. Accounts are created and switched off by your employer.
Check your internet connection and that the app is updated to the latest version.
Your location is shared only from clock-in to clock-out. Clock out or sign out – sharing stops at once.
You can change the permission at any time in your phone settings: iPhone – Settings → Balvantis → Location; Android – Settings → Apps → Balvantis → Permissions. Without the permission you can still clock in, your location is just not shared.
Location points are deleted after 90 days.
On Android, the “Shift in progress” notification stays visible the whole time your location is being shared. That way you always know sharing is on. Tapping the notification opens the app, where you can clock out.
The notification disappears as soon as you clock out. On iPhone, the location indicator at the top of the screen shows the same.
In the app, open More → My profile → Notifications and turn on “Notifications on this device”.
In your phone settings, allow notifications for the Balvantis app.
Check that Do Not Disturb or a Focus mode is not on. On Android, battery saving can stop the app in the background – allow Balvantis to run without restrictions.
In the same profile section, tap “Send a test notification”. If it arrives, notifications work.
Muted conversations do not send notifications about new messages. You can unmute a conversation from its menu.
Yes, if the stock data is already on your phone. Open Stocktaking while you are online – the data is saved on the phone. After that you can start and continue counting without internet.
What you count stays on the phone and goes to the server once you are back online. Finishing a count needs internet. Signing out deletes unsent counts from the phone.
Other parts of the app show the last loaded data while you are offline.
Your employer creates your account, so there is no delete button in the app. Ask your company’s administrator or write to [email protected]. The full procedure is described below under “Account and data deletion”.
Account and data deletion
Balvantis app accounts are created and managed by your employer, so the app has no account deletion button. You can have your account and data deleted in two ways.
How to request deletion
Ask your company’s administrator. In the Balvantis web version they can switch off your access at once and delete your employee record with its data.
Or write to [email protected] from your account’s e-mail address and name the company you work for.
We fulfil requests sent to [email protected] within 30 days. If the data belongs to your employer, we pass the request on to them, delete the data on their instruction and let you know.
What is not deleted at once
Accounting and payroll documents – kept for the periods set by law
Security logs – kept for 2 years
Backups – data disappears as the backup copies rotate
